A'LAHIRA is the moniker of onyịnye alheri: a caregiver, scholar, curator & multi-disciplinary artist from Èkó (so-called Lagos, Nigeria). in lieu of social media, i've created this one-page site for those who demand a web presence.

as a radio host, i'm a resident with Oroko Radio hosting the monthly show nke ọzọ.

as a curator, i have crafted exhibitions that celebrate queerness in (southern) Africa & interrogate genocide & war in Sudan & the Congo.

as an artist, i have a special interest in printmaking, experimental video and sound art, having exhibited in several countries including Ethiopia, Mexico, Mozambique, South Korea, Zambia, Italy and the United States.

as a member of the artist collective aguas migrantes, i've been fortunate to meet amazing people, convene film festivals in rural Mexico & offer free meditation sessions.

as a scholar, i've published on topics including homelessness, harm reduction, maternal nutrition, ending the global war on drugs, and prison protest (pending).

otherwise i'm an avid gardener & internationalist who enjoys connective travel as resources allow.
